I stumbled into Internet Marketing through desperation we (Myself, my wife and daughter) were living in Spain and were literally down to our last few hundred Euro’s. My dreams for motorcycle tour business had been crushed by men in suits.
We were screwed.
Salvation?
Late one night in 2005 I stumbled upon a private forum called Keyword Avalanche, it cost $39 a month to join. I remember sitting there reading and re-reading the sales page, (it was a typical IM style long form sales letter) trying to work up the courage to sign up.
It was the last chance saloon for us.
To cut a long story short, I joined and read as much as I could until I was almost falling asleep at my desk.
The next day I started to apply what I learned and built my first site. It wasn’t plain sailing, without the forum members there to answer my questions I would not have got my site built.
I knew nothing about building a website, I couldn’t install WordPress,(I hadn’t even heard about it until the evening before) I didn’t know what FTP was let alone know how use it.
From Small Acorns…
A month later I had earned the grand total of $1.20. The amount wasn’t important I knew it worked. I then started building sites for people for $10 each to keep us going until I could build my income up.
Often I would work 16 hours a day 4 or 5 days of the week, it didn’t matter I was making money online .
Within 6 months my earnings from Adsense were up to over $4000 a month. A few month later I had added affiliate maketing and had my first ever $20,000 month.
I don’t want you to think that these earnings are typical they aren’t , the only typical part of it is the long hours I put into first learning how Internet Marketing worked and then the long hours I put into executing my plan.
In my early days I learned 3 things that are just a true today as they were then.
1. There is no magic button
2. There are no quick fixes,
3. You won’t make $10,000 by next month.
If you can accept those 3 points above then please continue reading.
