Internet Marketing-No Two Marketers Are The Same

I am sat at the airport getting ready to fly home after the Las Vegas Seminar. One thing that really surprised me was the number of different ways people were using the skills they have learned through WordPress Goldmine and other sites and products.

WPG was always designed to give people a simple system they can use to get started with internet marketing. The thinking behind this was get the basic right and the rest will follow.

I really was blown away by the fact that all of the attendees were doing different things and nearly all were being successful in their businesses or on the verge of success, hell some of the people there made myself and Paul look like amateurs!

You really need to look at the big picture when it comes to Internet Marketing, there is no size fits all method, master the basics, selecting niches, driving traffic and monetization and you can then make money in lots of different ways.

You are the master of your own destiny…don’t let inaction stop you achieving your goals.

2 Great Threads to Inspire You.

There were 2 great threads posted yesterday in the Success Forum and I want to make sure you guys get to see them, as they really press home the fact that working on your sites works.

It’s easy to sit back and think to your self that “nothing works” & “IM is just a scam”  but the truth is it works just fine if you put the time and effort in. The first was from Ruth9 who posted about how her first site made $6752 in 3 months.

Hi all,
I’ve been meaning to post this for ages… sorry I took so long to get around to it.
Just wanted to post my HUGE APPRECIATION to Mark, Paul, George, Peter….and EVERYONE who’s ever answered my basic questions, you’ve been abundantly kind to me.
I didn’t make a cent until I came to WPg,infact I think i’d just barely learnt how to copy n paste! (you think I’m joking Though it was a steep learning curve I was determined.
My first site made me $6752 over a 3 month period and a bit before and after that it has been still trickling in a little. I’m also making money from other sites. I have about 12 sites done, about 7 are on the first page, I only really focus on a few that I know can bring me money (Some sites I dismiss and others I have a longer term plan) and they are in no. 1 spots + other spots on first page.
I’m now really interested in helping local businesses in the future. And though I still have ‘gaps’ in my learning to fill in I have learnt a lot. This is especially special for me as I have done this whilst I haven’t been well, so my apologies for not being able to help other people on the forum more.
thanks again guys..

The second post was from Lreedy, lee told us who he went from earning about $150 a month a year ago to earning $200 yesterday…Awesome!!
I don’t normally do this kind of thing, but there have been many times in the past that reading someone’s success story pushed me to do a little bit extra each day. If it wasn’t for that push, I wouldn’t be sharing this today. I hit a major milestone yesterday. But first I’d like to show where I was a year ago.

In August 2009 I made $97 with clickbank, $50 with shareasale, and a whopping $0.41 in adsense for the entire month. I didn’t do amazon back then because I was one of those fools who thought that the idea of a 24 hour cookie was ridiculous. I had no idea that amazon could convert 10% of their visitors. In September I started visiting this forum, although I had owned Mark’s book for a while. I also jumped into the middle of the xfactor craze and realized that adsense was a viable means of monitization.

Its been up and down since then, and a lot of long hours at the computer even with considerable outsourcing. But yesterday I saw a glimpse of the not to distant future. I am prepared to do whatever it takes to make that glimpse an every day reality. And then exceed it.

Yesterday I earned a total of $200.01 from adsense, clickbank, amazon, and CPA.

I could not have done this without the knowledge and inspiration I have picked up from Mark and the members of this forum.

Once again you can read the details at http://wpgoldmine.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=6096
Congratulations guys, you have my respect and gratitude!

5 Reasons people Struggle to Make Money Online

Don’t believe what all the Guru’s tell you it’s not easy to make money online. Via my Blog and forum I get to chat to lots of people who all have one thing in common they want to make money online. Often this is to supplement a poorly paying full time job, to bring in some extra money to help out with bills or just so that can get away from a mundane 9-5 job. Unfortunately about 95% of these people won’t get to realise their dreams and be able to make a significant online income.

There are 5 basic mistakes that people make when they set out on an online career. The sad thing is that most of these can be easily avoided with a bit of planning and preparation. Let’s look at the mistakes and how you can avoid them.

1. Failing to Plan.

Working online is like any business you need a business plan. You also need to know your strengths and weaknesses. If you don’t feel you can write articles and you don’t have the funds to pay for a writer then you should avoid anything that needs a steady flow of unique content or articles. Find a source of income that will allow you to use your abilities. Don’t be afraid to treat the first 6 months of your online career as an apprenticeship and learn new skills which will help in the long term.

2. Believing the hype

Successful internet marketers make their money by persuading you that you need their products to be successful. You don’t. You just need to be prepared to work and often work hard. When I first started it took me less than 5 months to get my online earnings up to over $4000 per month. To earn that I spent less than $100. But I worked a lot of hours to get there.

3. You don’t control your spending

I lost count of the number of people I know who have spent thousands of dollars on tools and e-books and still have not made more than $100 online. If you spend $100 on tools then you need to make $101 before you make a profit. Start out by joining a forum and see what people are doing to make money. Test their methods and if they work and you make a profit then buy tools that will help speed up the process.

4. Lack of Focus

People seem intent on jumping from one method of earning money online to another without giving each method time to work. This week they’ll try adsense, next week affiliate marketing after that buying and selling domains. When I speak to people who do this they all say the same thing, Adsense doesn’t work anymore, article marketing doesn’t work anymore etc. It does, it‘s just that it doesn’t work overnight and you need to spend time learning how to do things properl.

5. You think you know all you need to know.

Technology and the internet are changing at an ever increasing pace. 18 months ago Blog and Ping was the best way to get your site indexed and ranking in the search engines then almost overnight social bookmarking and RSS feeds took over. You need to keep an eye on upcoming trends and ways of marketing. I’ve had well known marketers email me recently telling me that Hubpages or Twitter was the next big think in marketing…sorry guys I’ve been using them and writing about them for the last 9 months.

If you feel that you are making a few of these mistakes then take time out to look at what you are doing wrong and what you can do to change things. A few hours spend on analysing your plans or you current business now can result in a much larger income later on.
